Full Speed
This weekend via Netflix I watched A toute vitesse, a French movie with English subtitles released in 1998. It felt low-budget and was of questionable artistic value. There was very little character development, yet the story could have been developed more carefully for better results. These were young (say, 20-23 year old) French adults, seemingly without responsibility or vocation (save for the one who liked to box in cement-walled space, and another who was leaving for Paris to write). The movie explored sexual identity, the complexity of friendships and relationships, and bad music. I think I may be near the end of good French films available for watching at the moment.
