One of my favorite albums featuring Piazolla's music has been by the Quatuor Caliente of standards like Libertango. This new release adds guitar to the palette, in place of the vibes that were featured on their earlier album. While the pieces aren't as familiar, the passion is still there, as is the beautiful sound and stereo image. Another strong release! Encuentro may well take you away to a thrilling adventure; but the entire album isn't quite up to the level of interest of the pure Piazolla album Libertango.
